Common Questions

Get quick answers to the most common questions our patients ask before their procedure.

How early should I arrive?

Plan to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled procedure time. This gives our team time to complete check-in, verify your insurance, and answer any last-minute questions.

Can I drive myself home after my procedure?

If your procedure involves sedation (colonoscopy or upper endoscopy), you cannot drive yourself. You must have a responsible adult present to take you home. Sedation effects can last up to 24 hours. For capsule endoscopy or hemorrhoid banding, sedation is typically not required and you may drive yourself.

What if I need to reschedule?

Please call our office at least 48 hours before your appointment. This allows us to offer your time slot to another patient and helps you avoid any cancellation fees.

Will I be sedated?

Colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures use light sedation to keep you comfortable. You will not feel pain during the procedure. Capsule endoscopy and hemorrhoid banding typically do not require sedation.

When will I get my results?

Dr. Maher discusses initial findings with you immediately after your procedure, before you leave the office. If biopsies or lab work are needed, results are typically available within a few business days and our team will contact you directly.
